This is an online computer dictionary for Computer and Internet Terms and Definitions. Search by term or browse by computer category. Offers other information as well.

Web Developer's Virtual Library

Contains a multitude of Web Development Tutorials and Resources including discussion forums, software reviews, articles, design and graphics tips and much more.

TechTerms.org

A free online computer dictionary. Defines and explains computer and technology terms. Can search by term and browse alphabetically or by category.

Dream-in-Code

Home to a Programming and Web Development Community. Provides free tutorials, resources, and help to anyone interested in programming or web development. Contains forums, tutorials and articles related to most languages and programming environments.

Association for Computing Machinery

A leading resource for computing professionals and students working in the various fields of Information Technology. Is the world's oldest and largest educational and scientific computing society

IEEE.org

Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Computer Society

Website of the world's leading organization of computer professionals. Aims to be the leading provider of technical information, community services, and personalized services to the world's computing professionals.

AITP

Association of Information Technology Professionals

Offers opportunities for IT leadership and education through partnerships with industry, government and academia. AITP provides quality IT related education, information on relevant IT issues and forums for networking with experienced peers and other IT professionals

W3C -- World Wide Web Consortium

World Wide Web Consortium

The place to go for information about the workings of the Internet. It develops interoperable technologies such as specifications, guidelines, software, and tools. W3C is a forum for information, commerce, communication, and collective understanding.

ISOC

The Internet Society

The organizational home for groups responsible for Internet infrastructure standards, including the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and the Internet Architecture Board (IAB). provides leadership in addressing issues that confront the future viability of the Internet.

NISO

National Information Standards Association

Identifies, develops, maintains, and publishes technical standards to manage information. Sponsors programs on standards issues and exploratory workshops on emerging topics.

Computer History Museum

Online counterpart to the brick and mortar building in Silicon Valley. Offers many online exhibits on a variety of topics related to the history of computing. Current exhibits include The Silicon Engine, a Computer History Timeline, and Mastering the Game -- A History of Computer Chess.

An Overview of Cryptography

Have you ever wanted to understand encryption -- how we are able to securely transfer information over the web? Well you need to know about Cryptography -- the art of writing in secret code -- and how it is applied to programming code. The author, Gary C. Kessler, has recently updated and expanded the work and uses figures, tables and algorithms to explore the topic.

(Dating to 1991, has all sorts of sites related to the computer science field compiled by experts. Part of the World Wide Web Vitual Library started by Tim Berners-Lee -- the creator of HTML and the Web.Continually updated.)

Computers and Computer Science at LII.org

(From the Librarian's Index to the Internet, content is reviewed and evaluated by professional librarians. Wide range of materials for you to choose from. Covers everything from Internet Technology to Web Design to Programming Languages.)

BUBL for Computing and the Internet

(Based in Glasgow, Scotland, links to info on all areas of Technology and the Applied Sciences based upon the Dewey Decimal Classification System. Brings a British and European view to the field.)

Intute for Computing

(Based at higher education sites in the United Kingdom, this provides free access to high quality Internet resources. Each has been evaluated and categorized by subject specialists.)

Virtual Computer Library

(Hosted by the University of Texas at Austin, this library of sites ranges from reference works to book reviews to on-line articles and indexes. )
