WOMEN AND SCIENCE

This course will provide an interdisciplinary examination of women's relationship to the natural sciences, mathematics, and technology. The social construction of gender and race will be examined along with a feminist critique of science. The history of women in science and the experiences of contemporary women scientists will be included along wih the impact of science and technology on women's lives. Course materials will include case studies and autobiographical narratives, films as well as theory and sociological analysis (prerequisite: ENGL 121).
