This year, the annual conference of the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges (AMATYC) was held at the Sheraton Centre in Toronto from November 15 - 18, 2001. During the conference, Brookdale was recognized in two special ways. On Thursday the 15th, Elaine Klett received the Teaching Excellence award. Elaine was selected from all nominated candidates in the AMATYC Mid-Atlantic Region, which includes Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia! On Saturday the 17th, Thomas Bullock received awards for the Brookdale Math League Team, which placed first in the nation, first in the region and first in the state! Thomas and Glenn Noé are co-coordinators for the team.
