Geoff Shields

Learning Assistant & Adjunct Instructor

Geoff Shields is a proud graduate of Brookdale Community College, (class of 82!) and is delighted to give something back to the institution that turned him on to learning. After receiving his A. A. in Theater Arts, Geoff went on to Graduate from San Francisco State University, where he received numerous awards and scholarships in acting. He continued to work in the Bay Area theater scene for over ten years, appearing in dozens of plays and co-founding a theater company with several of his SFSU colleagues. After receiving an ESL teaching certificate from San Francisco's "Language School," Geoff moved to France, living and teaching in the Paris area for four years. Upon returning to the US in 1996, Geoff was hired in the speech, language, and writing departments as a part time learning assistant. In 2000, Geoff became a full time learning assistant in speech. He is delighted to be here, and announces to anyone who asks, that every morning when he wakes up and realizes that he is part of the Brookdale Speech team, he goes to work a happy man.
