Drafting and Design

Welcome to the world of drafting and design. The techniques and skills needed to be a successful draftsperson or designer are similar whether one intends to use a computer-aided-drafting (CAD) program or traditional drafting tools.

The purpose of this site is to provide extra help to new CAD/Drafting students as well as to provide a refresher for persons wanting to review basic CAD/Drafting techniques.

In order to view the exercises and animations in this course, you will need to download Cortona, a plug-in which will enable you to view VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) files.

After downloading and installing the plug-in, click here to test your installation and to get familiar with how to use the controls in the Cortona VRML Viewer.

The Visualization Exercise also requires the Macromedia Authorware plugin. You should be prompted on that page to begin the download, but if not, click here to download the plugin.

Otherwise, click on the topics on the left to get started.
