The Writing Center offers one-on-one help to all Brookdale students with any aspect of their writing. Learning Assistants are available to help at any stage of the writing process with such things as choosing a topic, creating a thesis statement, developing and organizing ideas, revising, editing, and citing sources.

Students from any Brookdale class visit the Writing Center for help with writing assignments in all subject areas. Learning Assistants offer support with research papers, college transfer essays, even cover letters and resumes. Tutoring sessions, called appointments, begin on the hour and the half-hour and students schedule them on-line.

Missed Appointments:
Students who miss two appointments without deleting them or calling to cancel will be blocked from making a scheduled appointment via TutorTrac for one month. During this time, students will still be able to have a drop-in appointment. After the month, students will be reinstated in Tutortrac.

The Writing Center also offers hour-long group workshops on a variety of specialized writing topics including focus, development, sentence structure, comma use, MLA citations, revision, and more.
In addition, the Writing Center has computers available at the Lincroft campus for use by English students during regular hours. Preference is given to student in ENGL-095. English students are permitted to print no more than two copies of a draft. No Internet printing is allowed.
