The Basic Skills Committee:
§        Advises, develops and recommends all policies, procedures and 
regulations concerning Basic Skills to the Executive Vice President for 
Educational/Student and Outreach Services or the appropriate Governance 
committee.
§        Facilitates ongoing College discussion regarding the mission, goals, 
and objectives of Basic Skills.
§        Evaluates and provides guidance for ongoing assessment of Basic Skills.
§        Defines, investigates and develops effective solutions for various 
problems relating to basic skills that are identified by the committee and/or 
other areas of the college community.
§        Encourages cross-discipline communication in which philosophical, 
pedagogical and pragmatic issues are discussed
