We Have a New Website
The Bankier Library will be unveiling an updated website on September 7th. To assist with the transition, we will be keeping our old website running concurrently until October 31st. A link to the old website will be provided in the Services for Faculty section of the new site.

    Live Chat in EBSCO databases
    Need help with your research papers? If you've got a question when using EBSCO databases, the Library has now got a chat widget implemented so that you can get reference help in real time. The "Ask a Librarian" chat widget appears on the right-hand side of your search results page. Feel free to chat with a librarian if you don’t have time to visit the Reference Desk. Librarians chat with you online, no matter where you are, during the Reference Desk hours.

    Safeguarding your Personal Belongings
    Do not leave personal belongings unattended while in the library (even for a short trip to the vending machine). Thefts of laptops, cell phones, purses, and other valuables do occur. If you see suspicious activity while you are in the library, please notify a library staff member and/or campus police.

    Trial access to Palgrave Macmillan’s ebooks
    From now through November 9, we have trial access to Palgrave Macmillan's complete ebook collections on the Palgrave Connect platform. Palgrave Macmillan currently offers over 9,500 ebooks in the Humanities, Social Sciences and Business.

    Trial Database: Research Monitor
    Through Oct. 28, 2012, we have trial access to Research Monitor. Euromonitor's Research Monitor is a market research database which contains 10,000 reports on consumer markets in 80 countries.

OneSource database delivers in-depth business information on over five million U.S. and international companies. It provides access to executive biographies, company profiles, financial information, industry research, as well as news & alerts.

    LibGuides to Go
    We have two new LibGuides (also known as Subject Research Guides) that we want to share with you. They are the Marketing and Connecting from off-campus. The Library has published subject-specific LibGuides as well as guides to important topics, such as Digital Text, Distance Learners and Library Liaisons. We will continue to add new LibGuides. LibGuides are mobile-ready and easy to use.

    Magical Dickens Contest
    The Bankier Library is running the Magical Dickens Contest as part of its display celebrating Charles Dickens’s 200th birthday. The contest is a questionnaire on information in the display. Each month, one Lucky Winner will be selected from among the correct entries and a $10 gift certificate to the Bookstore will be awarded. Contest entry forms are available next to the display and can be turned in at the Help Desk.

    eBooks on EBSCOhost
    You can now download and read EBSCOhost eBooks on your computer or laptop from on or off campus. Using Adobe Digital Editions, EBSCOhost eBooks can be transferred to a compatible e-reader device, such as the Barnes & Noble Nook, or the Sony Reader. Happy e-Reading!
