Student Programs
Because of the great popularity of spring trips, we only accept school reservations for Spring trips after September 15 of the prior year. Spring requests are processed together in October for the Spring season. Confirmations are sent about November first. Please plan to submit your Spring requests in writing, with Full Payment or Purchase Order, as early as possible, and after September 15.

Please check this site for date availability when planning your field trips to Sandy Hook. Note that this site is not updated weekly and that all dates may not be available. Therefore, "posted" dates may already be taken, so send us several dates. Class sizes of 20-30 students each can be accommodated as indicated, and this is listed on dates that are "open." Please submit all trip reservations via the written reservation form with at least three dates requested and a Check or Purchase Order for the full amount when you request your dates, made out to:
Brookdale Community College - Ocean Institute or BCC-Ocean Institute.

NOTE: For ease of scheduling, please pick dates that are at least ten days apart. Requesting three Fridays, or all of your dates at the end of May or first week of June will make it very difficult for us to fill your school's request. S.H.O.R.E.: Sandy Hook Out-reach Experiences - Our Sandy Hook staff offers hands-on programs at your school for teacher training and student enrichment. Materials are drawn from our award-winning curriculum materials: Estuaries, Sandy Hook!, and Saving N.J. Wetlands. Teacher programs include: Planning a flawless field trip, Marine Biology and Oceanography, Weather and Climate, NJ Wetlands, and various Environmental Educational themes. Student programs include: Careers, Local Seashores, the Underwater World, Plankton, Coastal Geology and Erosion, Pollution Solutions, Wetlands, Global Climate Change, Weather and Weather Satellite Reception in the classroom.

after April first (4/1/10).
See the scheduling notes (above) and send us a choice of dates
if you are applying for Summer dates.
Note: The week of July 4 is a very busy time for traffic and we recommend not scheduling programs during that period.
 
Email the Ocean Institute with questions but please remember that all trip requests must be made in writing on the reservation form and that this is the first step in the scheduling process.
Please include at least three dates and a check or purchase order for the full amount.

July- We prefer not to schedule trips during July 4th week because of the traffic. Send your requests ASAP. Please request at least three (3) days.
August - The first two weeks are busiest and fill first.
Choose a variety of dates in other weeks too.
