74º 48' North, 083º 10' West.

Entering Croker Bay and boarding zodiacs to search for birds, seals and examine the ice.

The glacier "calves" a wall of ice and we surf
away on the ground swell it forms.

The scenery is awesome, the birding is good (Fulmars, glaucous gulls), and the waters are rich in plankton.

(Left) We pluck a "sea butterfly" out
of the freezing waters. Click the image to link
to plankton and to see one swim.
