The students of the Contemporary Life Science class adopted horseshoe crabs for their semester project in the Fall of 2003. A booklet devoted to this fascinating inhabitant of New Jersey waters and designed for use with the fourth grade classes.. Bill, our poet laureate, receives an award and handshake for the most creative ideas. |

| Students show off some of their handiwork, designed for fourth graders. Various strategies were employed, including word puzzles and games, crossword puzzles and "Where's Limulus?" a hidden horseshoe crab picture puzzle; mazes and information about the life cycle and life styles of Limulus. |

The students also searched the web for information and modified this image of a deformed horseshoe crab larva from the Horseshoe Crab page to use for one of their games "Where's Limulus?" We celebrated the completion of the project with a delicious, home-made horseshoe crab chocolate cake with licorice telson. (Jay, decorated the cake!) |
